Exercising and losing weight while juice fasting is the secret to success to fully jump start your body into a healthy life style change.
Most doctors recommends at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular work every week for normal healthy adults. Cardio is probably the best workout you can practice for a healthy body. Cardio increases your circulation and pumps blood throughout your entire body.
During a juice fast your body is going through a enormous healing and detoxification process. The best way to support this healing is getting blood flow throughout the body. Blood is the fuel which heals every part of your body and cardio promotes healthy blood flow even when you are not working out.
Examples of cardiovascular workouts include running, swimming, fast walking, jogging, bike riding, treadmill ect. There are different levels of intensity and heart rates per minute which you can research further to achieve your fitness goals, but a basic routine of making sure you are breathing moderately hard, you can feel your blood and heart pumping if you put your two fingers to your next near the juggler and feel the pulse.
If you are a smoker and can do 30 minutes straight of cardio or find your self out of breath move at a pace comfortable but remember you mush push your self to some degree. After your first workout it usually gets a lot easier and by the 4th or 5th you should start feeling good every time you workout.
You can also implement higher intensity work outs during your fast including body weight exercises like push ups, sit ups crunches, squats, weight training with free weights, and even sprinting in short intervals is a great high intensity workout which helps build and maintain muscle.
Because muscle requires protein to both build and sustain, there is a chance you may lose some muscle mass during a juice fast. The amount you may lose will require greatly on how much high intensity workouts you preform. Although there is some protein in juice, you may wish to supplement a protein shake here and there if this is an issue to you.
The more lean muscle mass you have on your body the more Fat calories your body burns doing nothing or sleeping, so obviously you want to keep the muscle you have.
A good rule of thumb is to not overly aggressively kill your self working out on a juice fast, instead try to build the foundation so when you break the fast you will be ready for more challenging workouts.
Remember to stretch! Stretching and yoga are perhaps the best thing you can include while exercising so you may limit injuries and increase flexibility. Also you burn plenty of calories while doing it.
Do not forget to stretch, you won't be able to workout at all if you injure something!
